README

darkstar

Requirements

Dependency Why Notes
Neovim 0.12+ nvim-treesitter's main branch needs it Build from source or use a release
git Plugin installs and vim-fugitive
A C compiler (gcc or clang) Compiles treesitter parsers and the native FZF sorter
make Builds telescope-fzf-native
tree-sitter CLI Compiles parsers on the treesitter main branch cargo install tree-sitter-cli or npm i -g tree-sitter-cli

Optional:

Dependency Why
ripgrep Speeds up telescope live grep; the config falls back to grep without it
A Nerd Font Renders icons in telescope and which-key

Debian and Ubuntu pull the build tools in one line:

apt install git build-essential ripgrep cargo && cargo install tree-sitter-cli

Install

git clone <repo-url> ~/.config/nvim
nvim

The first launch bootstraps lazy.nvim and installs every plugin. Treesitter compiles each parser the first time you open a matching file.

To run it next to an existing config, clone to ~/.config/neovim and start NVIM_APPNAME=neovim nvim.

Plugins

Comment toggling uses the built-in gc operator.
