folder location of chromium

answer: folder is ~/.config/chromium where as google chrome is ~/.config/google-chrome
binaries in /opt/chromium.org/chromium-beta/chrome

unknown on windows. ((someone add filepaths for windows please))

latest browser version + updates

answer:

Updates are not automatic.

Binaries are updated when major chrome features are released.
Please compile the branch yourself if you need frequent updates

Main reasons this is not done frequenlty are:

• build instructions change
• it takes time to compile + release
• this process is not automated

windows binarires are compiled weekly according to Jonathan. Mirror is last known/tested working version though.

macosx support?

Hi. I've installed this version of Chromium because I was really tired of the horrible white flash when opening and switching pages and tabs. This version works like a charm. After a while using it, I have only found two issues and I wonder if they can be fixed:

The first one doesn't worry me too much: the configuration and extension pages have a black background and many text cannot be read and many times you have to select everything to see what you are doing.

The second one is that the zoom level is not saved or remembered per page, as it happens with Chrome. I don't know if this is an issue with this build or it's a feature in all Chromium versions. I would really like it to remember (everytime I visit a webpage) the zoom I've selected prevously for it.

There's a new Issue on Chromium side regarding this problem: https://bugs.chromium.org/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=1130191

Current situation:

• deb file and libs are provided as separate downloads

Ideal fix:

• one deb file and support ppa for apt-get install/update

The problem:

• warnings are produced while packaging deb file. using an ignore flag
• libraries compiled without version number for whatever reason
• deb file creates package named chromium-browser-beta but still uses ~/.config/chromium
