Internal note

We have fixed similar isssues in Highcharts previously by prefixing id's with a unique key for each chart instance. Search for uniqueKey throughout the source code for inspiration.

Another approach to accomplish the same is by having multiple layouts in the same Dashboards instance, and toggle display by targeting layout id:

gui: {
    layouts: [{
        id: 'layout-1',
        rows: [{
            cells: [{
                id: 'dashboard-col-0'
            }, {
                id: 'dashboard-col-1'
            }]
        }]
    },
    {
        id: 'layout-2',
        rows: [{
            cells: [{
                id: 'dashboard-col-0'
            }, {
                id: 'dashboard-col-1'
            }]
        }]
    }]
}

I guess the danger of repetition is the same here, and prefixing with unique key for each dashboards instance won't do the trick in this use case.
