TOWNGUIDE README
================

This directory is the source code distribution for the townguide program to 
produce a simple guide to an area using OpenStreetMap data.

For details of configuration and dependencies, please type:
    pydoc townguide

The source code also includes a very simple web service for requesting
map production - see it in action at http://www.townguide.webhop.net.


This program is Copyright Graham Jones, 2009.  It is released under the 
GNU Public License as described in the COPYING file provided with this
distribution.

Selecting 'PDF Booklet' Fails to produce output

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1.  Select an area from the web interface
2.  Select the output format as 'PDF Booklet'
3.  Submit Job

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Expected output is a readable PDF file of the selected area.
No PDF output is produced, but the job is shown as complete (rather than 
failed).

Swedish characters dont work

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. If you use swedish characters like åäö it dont work, you should prbably
support UTF8 and/or iso8859-1 

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
No map get generated at all

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?

Overlapping Map Feature Markers

If multiple map features are close together, the markers will be printed on
the map overlapping, so you can not see the numbers on the lower markers. 
Very close markers should me merged together.

Old coastline

I fixed the coastline at
http://www.openstreetmap.org/?lat=56.16815&lon=15.2862&zoom=15&layers=B000FTF
before christmas and mapnik have changed it, but when generate a pdf from
your site it looks like it uses a wery old coastline

Rendering Daemon unreliable

The rendering queue fails every now and then, freezing all rendering activities 
until it is re-started.
The logging is not very good, so I haven't found out why.

Options:  
1. Sort out this version
2. Use Waldemar's Google Summer of Code one.
3. Use the one by MapOsMatic
