Route of administration

WG: we propose the split this concept in a Route of Administration (medication related) (we can start with e.g. EDQM as a reference) and a BodySite as determined by SNOMED CT.

i.e. for the patient to see one scheduled admin at 7:00, and another scheduled admin at 15:00 and another at 23:00, instead of seeing "3 times per day"

Use of Medication Administration Request

WG: the workgroup proposes not to use the MedicationRequest as a Medication Administration Request, but the use of a ServiceRequest, which has a MedicationRequest embedded that contains all relevant information for the Nurse/other caregiver. This copy will refer to the actual MedicationRequest that was issued by the MD (how is not yet defined).

This prevents overprofiling of MedicationRequest for a very specific context, and still enables the use of the same valuesets for related elements.

Missing elements of Dosage

I'm not sure what the intention is here, but certain properties from Dosage are missing. Notably asneeded and doseAndRate.

I guess you labeled the most important fields as Must Support so clients using the Vidis data will have an accurate view of the medication, but without doseAndRate that's not really possible. Or am I missing something here?

How to support Treatment Plan?

Questions by the referral prescription project

In the referral prescription project, there is a need for a resource Medication Administration Request, that should take the role of a Referral Prescription to a Nurse, or other so qualified practitioner.

Many questions have arisen, and there is a feeling that alignment with the Medication group is necessary.
