vertex-icons's Issues

Dark compatibility (with arc-darker gtk theme, etc)

This icon theme is so great because with the neutral colored folders (light gray / white) it can go with most any gtk theme. It especially fits well with your gtk themes (arc, arc-darker, ceti, etc). Right now however, some items don't support a dark background very well, so when using the darker version of those themes some things aren't quite right.

Examples:

  1. "desktop" icon (in Cinnamon, or using a Gnome-Shell extension): the icon is mostly black, but with a dark background hard to see.
  2. "recent" icon (using nemo with the dark sidebar): the backwards circle arrow is again dark on dark.
  3. "lock" icon (Cinnamon main menu): dark on dark
  4. "trash icon"
  5. "music folder icon" (I agree with another report that these icons should be modelled after the 32+ pixel icons that show the light gray folder with the places icon in the middle).

.... others ...

I would think you may need separate "dark and light" entries for this icon theme to support the above, but maybe you have a better solution?

Thanks again for the great work!

File manager icons needed

Hello @horst3180 I love your icon theme and it fits perfect with Arc Vertex and Ceti 2, I am impressed

Anyway, can you add a file manager icon to Vertex icons based on your 32x32 (and up) user-home icon? and if you can make it compatible with GNOME Cinnamon Pantheon XFCE and MATE please ๐Ÿ˜„

Won't work on Elementary OS Freya

When applied to Freya I get default gnome icons. When I go to nautilus in the administrative mode only the folder icons work. What might be the issue?

System settings and Nautilus has no icon

I'm using Debian, GnomeShell 3.20, Vertex is used over Moca icons. There are 2 issues:

  1. Nautilus has no icon in application menu but application is startable,
  2. Settings has no icon but it is not starting at all.

Budgie Raven Sidebar Control has no icon

Just this in the top-right corner:

bug

How I can choose a icon for this? Someone help me to find this? I love vertex icons but this lost icon really annoy me a little.

Thanks.

Switch fallback icon-theme from gnome to Adwaita

Since the gnome-icon-theme seems to replaced by the adwaita-icon-theme (gnome-icon theme last updated with gtk3.12) it seems to be reasonable to replace the gnome in the index.theme with Adwaita?

Question mark on icons

Hey guys, thanks a lot for the awesome work with the theme and the icons.
Used them both on Gnome and had no problem.

I recently moved to Unity (Ubuntu 15.04) and I love the way Vertex darkens up my screen, but run into a problem. After clicking on Terminal, or System Monitor, closing the program and reopening, their icons turn into a "?".
Both of those icons work normally with other themes, or when left unselected after a fresh boot.

Some screenshots for you.

Xfce Desktop Icon Text Shadow Offset

Hi, an old problem but easy to fix replace the line

textstyle = 5

by

textstyle = 0

in gtk-2.0/gtkrc code

style "xfdesktop-icon-view" {
  XfdesktopIconView::label-alpha = 0
  XfdesktopIconView::selected-label-alpha = 100
  XfdesktopIconVIew::ellipsize-icon-labels = 1

  base[NORMAL] = @selected_bg_color
  base[SELECTED] = @selected_bg_color
  base[ACTIVE] = @selected_bg_color

  fg[NORMAL] = @selected_fg_color
  fg[SELECTED] = @selected_fg_color
  fg[ACTIVE] = @selected_fg_color

  engine "murrine" {
    textstyle = 0
    text_shade = 0.05
  }
}
