headlessoverlaytoolkit's Issues

Repo contains excess files, remove excess files

Some people have had difficulties building this because they miss the "Made with Unity" part, and attempt to build this repo directly. This repo is intended to be run through Unity, so it does not need the .sln or .csproj files. It also does not need any of the Library/ files, except LibraryFormatVersion.txt and LastSceneManagerSetup.txt. I will remove these excess files when I have a chance.

How to build as an Overlay instead of VR application?

Hi again,

I've built a small application with your awesome toolkit to make some text appear.

However, I'm unable to run my project at the same time as a game. I see you have an example with your overlay working at the same time as Tiltbrush.

How can I get it to run as an overlay?

This might be something useful to add to README.md to help beginners such as myself

How did you deal with RenderTextures being so dark?

I wrote my own library for dashboard overlays for other purposes, but I'm stuck on one issue that I can't seem to get around:

The overlay is very dark in VR. The RenderTexture is a bit dark in the editor but not nearly as dark as it is in the overlay. Did you ever manage to find a way to resolve that? With the lack of SetOverlayGamma in the C# API there's not much I can think of at this point.

OpenVR System not found.

I always get that error immediately at opening the application. I have a Twitch chat on my screen when VR opens, but it is small and fixed in the world rather than following my left controller. It's pretty hard to read.

I've checked the log file - it doesn't have "Connect to VR Server Failed (301)", and I've tried running as administrator but that didn't work. I'll include the log.
output_log.txt

SteamVR_UpdatesPoses could not be found

Apologies if this is a silly issue (been a long time since I did Unity dev and haven't done any standalone C# dev)

When I open the project in Unity to launch the ExampleContent scene I get the error:

Assets/SteamVR/Scripts/SteamVR_Render.cs(349,17): error CS0246: The type or namespace name `SteamVR_UpdatePoses' could not be found. Are you missing a using directive or an assembly reference?

EDIT: I'm running Unity 5.4.0f3, seems this repo only works with 5.3?
