Unpack element_dict to HTML-string
An interface of element_dict needs to be added to Template to just pass around strings.
element_dict algorithm doesn't actually work
The depth-first algorithm I implemented doesn't work with the new model I introduced that more-closely reflects a real-world HTML structure.
Fixtures are not reusable
Fixtures are really ugly right now and provide a lot of room for making mistakes.
Builds take too long
- The last build I ran took 80-seconds. It should not take more than a few seconds.
- That's way too long to find out if your code is PEP8/257-compliant.
- PIP also has to constantly re-install packages.
Tests do not need to be re-performed on code not effected by new changes. [otto.dev]
In order to continuously-deliver, a system needs to be put into place which only tests portions of code effected by the newest commit.
This is more difficult than it sounds, because it requires Python-language introspection for high-level concepts:
- Classes effected by function changes.
- Functions effected by called-function changes.
- Etc.
Global-configuration access
Functions should not have to be aware of the application's context to access the configuration.
In app.py
the config comes from a file, so the same file should be accesible from the rest of the project.
Element-Data Relationships
HTML needs to support having data within its tags.
`element_dict` query optimization
Execution takes about 4-5s (maybe 1s less) with a 27-item template, containing 3-rows, and up to
6-levels of depth; however, adding a breakpoint right after the queuing before the loop shows that it takes up 80%+ of the execution time...
I don't know how SQLAlchemy handles cacheing, but I believe storing an index of each element's children may enhance execution speeds.
Re-usable MVC Indexes
Maintaining indexes of the file-system (framework/), models, and blueprints should be good.
Unfinished Docstrings
Docstrings should be visited and actually finished.
Static-analysis should not fail build
PEP8 should know how to ignore certain files so the builds will pass. :-)
