training's Issues

Replace Atom as text editor suggestion

I don't necessarily know what to replace it with, but Github is removing support for Atom as a standalone text editor, so we should probably find a replacement.

I like Sublime Text, though they do eventually ask you to pay for a licensed version (though you can keep using the free one if you ignore the prompts). It works for linux, mac, and PC, but I admit I haven't done an environmental scan on all the options out there recently.

Add Imagemagick to workshop pre-requisites

A community member ran into the following error while trying to get Cantaloupe 3.3 running.

ERROR e.i.l.c.p.ImageMagickProcessor - getFormats():
Cannot run program "/usr/local/bin/identify":
error=2, No such file or directory and ERROR e.i.l.c.p.GraphicsMagickProcessor - getFormats():

It turns out that Cantaloupe requires you to install ImageMagick separately.
https://cantaloupe-project.github.io/manual/3.3/processors.html

Throwing this on the pile until someone has time to verify this and go through each of the workshop versions to update the pre-reqs.

Mixed Content Blocks Leaflet Example From Loading

https://iiif.github.io/training/intro-to-iiif/LEAFLET-IIIF.html tries to load
http://mejackreed.github.io/Leaflet-IIIF/examples/example.html in an iframe.

Looking at a browser console you'd see something like:

Mixed Content: The page at 'https://iiif.github.io/training/intro-to-iiif/LEAFLET-IIIF.html' was loaded over HTTPS, but requested an insecure resource 'http://mejackreed.github.io/Leaflet-IIIF/examples/example.html'. This request has been blocked; the content must be served over HTTPS.

Changing the scheme of the iframe to example.html to https should fix this and allow the example to load.
