Hello, I am a novice with some things with computers. If you choose to help me, please give me the full instructions, with every step listed, or I may not be able to complete it. When I use the muxer/media converter Firefox Add-on, it will only work with M4As, whatever those are. It will not work with videos from youtube. It says those are DASH. I don't know what DASH means, but I cannot get the DASH files to work, after they have been fully downloaded.

I've downloaded the youtube video and audio add on, then the Muxer. I might be having problems with the FFmpeg add on, but I am completely lost. I'm not finding any clear step by step instructions. If someone knows where I could find this, please point me in the right direction. I have manually downloaded several FFMpeg files, and extracted one. Other download prompts are unclear as to how I should be opening the file. (which app to open with, windows 8).

If anyone responds, please assume that I have to start from scratch. There are way too many options in settings for the add on, and the muxer and the FFMpeg downloads to make any sense to me.

It would be nice to be able to create a video from a single image and an audio file.

As of now I am doing it the manual way in Win7 PowerShell.
c:\users\blah\ffmpeg -r 1 -loop 1 -y -i 1.jpg -i 1.mp3 -c:a copy -r 30 -vcodec libx264 -shortest 1.mp4

Maybe add this to the "combine audio and video" tab?
If it is a an image dropped and an audio file it allows a frame rate to be set and creates the video.

Either way having this integrated would eliminate the need to make a copy of the files and rename them since the add-on does that for you. It would also eliminate the need to specify/change the file type in the command line each time it is different (such as a webp + m4a).

Sometimes, if the video is too long or I download multiple files, /tmp gets clogged. There is no warning, no cleanup, and I see no option to change the conversion directory. The latter would solve the problem for me.

My /tmp is 2GB, and I don't want to enlarge it as I have only 4GB memory.

This is really cool. I didn't realize ffmpeg was in use by another firefox addon. I made an addon last week which records the screen. WebRTC records as .webm but stuff like Twitter only accepts gif or mp4. Things are working great EXCEPT when I have audio in the webm recording. If there is audio, then converting it to mp4 fails. I was wondering if you could please take a look at these topics - bgrins/videoconverter.js#49

You can run any command on this page. But if you click "Video to mp4" you will see the error I am getting.

How do I completely undo all changes made to the system by installing the native client?

Youtube Downloader Addon had an install.sh and an uninstall.sh script, to install or completely remove its native client.

fresh fedora20
installed via firefox
ffmpeg installed via yum
tried reinstalling both in every order
tried after reboot anyways
app tries to download but dl is canceled right away (.exe file extention?)
path to ffmpeg: /usr/bin/ffmpeg
will be happy to send any files logs etc

Hi, I'm using Windows 7. I downloaded ffmpeg and it's in a folder named 'ffmpeg-20180928-179ed2d-win64-static' in another 'bin' folder,

there's also folders 'doc' and 'presets' along with the license and read me files, how exactly do I set the absolute path in the converter? I've tried C:\Users\Chris\Desktop\ffmpeg-20180928-179ed2d-win64-static\bin and it won't work, it just crashes and says ffmpeg is damaged.

What do I do here?

I added the media converter add on to firefox. That part worked ok. I clicked on the media converter button on the tool bar and the add on screen opened ok.

Then nothing worked. I had downloaded and unzipped ffmpeg. The browse button didn't work so I
manually entered the path to ffmpeg.exe. the more setting button did not work. the drag and drop
function did not work. Please help.

I know how to read terminal outputs, and i love that you put a terminal read out to show what the program is doing,

but when the program reaches a critical error, i think you should have the program create a dialog box, like the screenshots (2 examples)

I installed Media Converter and launched it. It reported that I needed ffmpeg, but the button to download and install it reported an error. I installed ffmpeg from repository (ppa:jon-severinsson/ffmpeg). Media Converter still can't find it, even after I used the Browse feature to locate it (/usr/bin).

At this point, Media Converter won't work because it doesn't recognize ffmpeg. What can I do?

1 After adjusting, the volume still the same and bitrate is downgraded to 24 kbps.
2 In some cases max level of 200% is too small. It would be grate to increase max level to 400%.

hi, i knew this addon before - but now as i installed the extra converter and muxer its not working..?! i use FF 4304 32bit
when i start the converter i can click on any button nothing changes, click on settings, nothing happens, drag n drop a .mp4 on the field, red cross shows up and i cant drop it there...

ffmpeg is the latest 32bit...

what do i wrong..?

I'm on ubuntu linux 16.10, firefox 54.0.
Had no problem with the client install, the gui starts,
but when I open a file (drag and drop or open via the file selector),
I get the error in the "output window" (lowest third part of the window).

Can I somehow enable a more detailed error output?
I tried to rename the file to not contain any special characters (including space), so it is just ma.mp4 now, but still the same error.

Drag and drop does not function
In settings none of the btns ie browse, settings work!

Had to install ffmpeg manually and still not a breath out of this add-on.

What is going on?

I got ffmpeg working, but after every conversion a .txt file appears saying "Error: For audio extraction form this video format, you need to install and configure FFmpeg (http://www.ffmpeg.org/download.html) from addon's settings." Also, an option to also delete the video file after a conversion would be great as well.

I open the extension, install the node, and then it repeatedly says the native client crashed. I click to restart but it keeps saying it crashes. Message only changes when I uninstall the node. It just says the original screen text. Telling me to install the node.

Media Converter and Muxer recorgnize both FFMPEG and Native Client but can't use any menu in ui,
and function that automatly combine video/audio from other extention.

i've check native client version and my antivirus software twice third times but there's no workaround.

guess some firefox's permission related code might be changed during this 2 years.

I am on FF 58.0.2 and Media Converter 0.6.6.
When I select settings and change path to file locations, how do I save those changes?
What about Local communication port 3002, do I leave it alone?
All the check marks for the settings are gray. If I change them they go green. Do they have to be green to be valid?
When I select a function, such as convert to MP3 and drag a source file, how do I say Go to start the conversion?

My username of the computer has the name "luísaguiar" with the special caracter.
To work with the converter I must download in app every time the ffmpeg because of the path location of the ffmpeg.
After I close the extension the ffmpeg path is modified with some sort of "lu?saguiar" and stops working. Even if I download the ffmpeg-20180227-fa0c9d6-win64 to different simple path the system like c:\ffmpeg-20180227-fa0c9d6-win64\ffmpeg.exe and put that path manually it won't work. Only way is to download every time in the extension the codec.
oh! And the old version was quicker...

I correctly set up Media Converter and Muxer Firefox extension, but when I try to convert a video (MKV) to audio (MP3), I get this message:

"NetworkError when attempting to fetch resource."

Do you have any suggests. I have use MCM in the past and was very pleased with it.

In the Settings tab, I change the directory/path for: "FFmpeg Location," "Save Files In," and "Temporary Directory." The checkbox next to these settings turns green. So far so good. But when I use the converter (in this case the Audio Extractor), the default directories are used, not the user-specified directories. When I go back to the settings tab, the user-specified directories are still there with green check boxes, even though those directories were not used by the Audio Extractor. If I close media-converter and re-open it, the default directories show in the Settings tab (user-specified settings are lost).

Describing the steps that made it crash:

• downloaded a youtube video in .mp4 format using a firefox addon called, "YouTube Video and Audio Downloader (Dev Edt.) 0.7.2

-Then used another addon called Media Converter and Muxer
-Drag the MP4 file into the Audio Extractor section, and crash!

I have been using Media Converter and Muxer - Audio Tools in Firefox for many years and it has worked very well, but today I was trying to use the Video and Audio Combiner, to add an audio m4a file to an mp4 video and it wont work, gives an error
"Network Error when attempting to fetch resource"
As I said I have used this Video and Audio Combiner, many times and it worked well.
can anyone tell me how to fix this error.

I installed the webex extension in firefox 57 and when I click on the icon I get the message:
Oops! The native client just crashed!
During the installation I didn't get a demand to install the native client. I suppose that it is nodejs that I already installed for an other extension.
I have no access to the options page because the error message is displayed over it.
What is wrong with the extension or what I made that produced the error ?

I've downloaded ffmpeg countless times via the update option in Settings and keep getting the error Oops! The native client just crashed! saying ffmpeg is broken or something, this is ridiculous.

I drag and dropped the video file, and it disappeared.

using media converter & muxer I tried to extract audio from mp4 video, & it did not work correctly, the mpeg-4 audio file was created but when I try to play, it did not work.

after extracting an error box appeared saying "Check Error console for complete error report"
I tried to open error console ctrl + shift + j but nothing happened.

How do I open the Error Console to find the problem ???

P.S. other MP4 videos I tried to extract the audio worked fine, just a few wont work.

So I'm pissed off with this developer!
This is the fix - Download ffmpeg into your downloads directory; extract to a directory; usually programs.
open the converter app; settings; at the top - press Browse button; browse to your created directory; click on ffmpeg - suddenly works here.

Whats gone wrong!
Firefox installs the ffmpeg download into the Firefox user profile in your users directory;
which is hidden.
It's a path problem, in a hidden directory structure;
That Firefox users profile has a unique ID for every install!
Ubuntu / Linux has a pointing feature which finds the ffmpeg app location in the Firefox profile directory.

Error console - wasting your time! it outputs all of the Firefox errors; up to - good luck finding this one..
Making a new Firefox profile is also wasting your time.

I do believe the users of this product can avoid anymore grief. now works here.

I noticed that you added the dialog boxes! Thanks for that! I also noticed, that there was no indication of a new version of the native client before I re downloaded it, installed it, and the version number changed to 0.6.5. It would be cool if you added something like the screenshot, or even allowed the program to update itself automatically.

Works great on Firefox.
Script does not test ok on Chrome (Windows).
