Detect Secrets Stream is an internally developed component of the Detect Secrets suite of software tools (https://github.ibm.com/git-defenders/detect-secrets-stream, https://w3.ibm.com/w3publisher/detect-secrets). This set of tools is designed to prevent secrets like API keys, passwords, etc. from leaking via source code, and also to detect and remediate any leaks that do occur as quickly as possible. Detect Secrets Stream focuses on the detection of leaks by scanning every push to GitHub Enterprise in a transparent, non-blocking manner, and reporting its findings to a downstream remediation team for follow-up. Our team has been informed that this technology is in scope for the Kyndryl migration, and thus would like to open source it in support of this transition. A contribution request has already been approved via Wicked Proposals.
