hackathons's Issues

Infura API Optimization Prize

Infura Ethereum API Optimization Prize

Prize Bounty

$500 of Eth

Challenge Description

Each Ethereum network call costs $ and can be vulnerable to network clogging. We'd like to see you think about how you can lessen either the number or the gas cost of eth_calls that your dapp makes, and showcase improvements. This is a wide-ranging topic and we invite you to be creative. Additionally, you can use contracts like makerdao's Multicall (https://github.com/makerdao/multicall) either directly or for inspiration.

Submission Requirements

A valid submission will include a short project video demo as well as a text description of how the number/complexity/gas cost of eth_calls is reduced, including a before and after comparison.

Submission Deadline

January 23, 2020

Judging Criteria

The project demo and code will be evaluated by Infura team members, and the one best optimizing eth_calls will be awarded the prize. Judging includes criteria based on execution, project goal, originality, and code quality.

Winner Announcement Date

The winner will be announced via our Twitter and/or other channels within 1 week of the hackathon ending.

Infura API Signup and Usage Prize (20 winners)

Note: Due to a quirk in the way gitcoin handles multiple payouts from a crowdfunded bounty, I need to pay out the winners in an alternate method. So the bounty is being canceled to receive the funds back, and will be sent to the winners very soon.

Infura API Signup and Usage Prize

Prize Bounty

$50 of Eth for the first 20 teams to register with Infura and meet the requirements in their submission.

The API key is used the 'Providers' step of setting up ethers.js or web3.js. Note: Using Infura's IPFS API is also eligible! For those new to Ethereum development, I'd recommend starting with this tutorial video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t3wM5903ty0

Submission Requirements

Please include in your submission description 1) The emails used for signing up to Infura and 2) A screenshot of the "Stats" dashboard of your project showing the graphs of network traffic.
