Problem Statement

We are working on SDG 3: GOOD HEALTH AND MENTAL WELL-BEING

About

This project is inspired to provide a swift response to tackle this under reported cases and challenge of sexual harassment, rape, sex for grade, molestation and other gender based violence in our school (Primary, secondary and University), immediate community and the world at large. Various people from different parts of the world have had to deal with this issue for various unique or similar reasons. This situation has gone on to impact the lives of the affected people in various ways.

In view of the problem statement above, a viable solution would be to provide a platform through which patients can get report cases and get useful information that can assist them to deal with any problems. Individuals can report case as a victim or an eyewitness on sex for grades, rape sexual harassment, bullying and gender based violence, etc. They can also get tips and guides The approach taken is to use an intelligent agent (chat bot) that users can interact with and get the information that can assist their situations.

How it work

SpeakUp is a reporting platform aimed to help provide help and solutions to this ravaging under reported issues baffling our society. SpeatUp work by following up reported cases, giving guides and tips on possible way out based on the report and help asked for.

In a situation whereby the bot can not handle the user request or the user need to talk to a real human consultant, the bot connect them to nearby specialist or outpatient clinic in their location.

In a situation whereby the tips and guides are not enough to get ahead and the bot can not handle the user request or the user need to talk to a professional reponder, the platform connect them to a near by responder in their location.

Usage

The user can type in any relevant information and the bot will give a relevant response accordingly. The bot suggests possible solutions or recommendations that the user can make use of to assist them with their various situations. After successful interaction, the user gets assigned to a professional responder in order to seek further assistance. Users can also read up tips and guides that the user can make use of to keep them abreast of any issue of concern.

Practical usage

1. Visit https://speakup-app.herokuapp.com/
2. Type "Hello"
3. Reply the bot by typing "I need your your help"
4. You will get the response

Create a new folder named app, and create a reporter.html file in this folder

This would be the dashboard for the reporter

In the base directory of our project there is a tips.php file.
It is filled with dummy details. No backend yet
You can.
👉 Create a php file tips.php inside the folder named app.
Here the responders can share tips and guides.

👉 In the reponder.php file add a new link to the sidebar for the tips
