Post lesson plan on Slack

Part of the lesson internalization process is to post a lesson plan on Slack. It would be great if the instructor could enter the plan right in the tool (responses to questions like “what will students find most challenging?”) and have that posted to Slack.

This would almost certainly involve using cloud functions one way or another—either to do hand-rolled Slack OAuth, or just to set up a Slack bot to do the posting.

Extract lesson information from Google Slides

It looks like Google Slides does have an API that would give us access to the structured contents of slides. We’d have to do things quite heuristically but it does seem pretty likely that we could extract the information we are looking for most of the time.

Make Do Now optional

Per feedback from Alex Pelan, some classes don't post the Do Now as a Classroom assignment at all (it's just a slide on the projector and students do it on paper)

Better support for projects

The tool currently contains basic support for projects, but lacks certain functionality. In particular, all lessons are assumed to span a single day, whereas projects can be multi-day. So we should be able to set the end date for a project, and have the due date of the assignment set accordingly.

Remember inputs

Right now if you reload the page you have to start the process over. Would be better to remember entries for some period of time—probably for as long as the Google auth session lasts.

Make it possible to go back

Currently there is no way to correct a mistake once you have moved past a given step in the lesson planner. It should either be possible to go back, or we should re-work the planner to be presented as a single form rather than a “wizard” style interface.
