This is a RaspberryPi + Node.js project. It started out as a simple controller for the lights in my house but it turned into Frankenstein...
I'm not sure if this project can help someone but if it does, feel free to clone! It's all just a collection of Open Source projects anyway:
- Node.js: It does everything so it rocks.
- mochad CLI: simple control of incandescent lights through X10.
- socket.io: For a super-fast chat room. It's very similar to the Cloud9 example Node.js app.
- gmaps: Dead-simple Google maps API.
- jQueryFileUpload: Now it's a file server too with nice image previews.
For the tracker (gmaps) portion, you may have to just create your own solution. For me, I have GPS coordinates that are uploaded to a public (secure) server and I poll that directory via FTP. Eh, the whole point of that was to get to know Google maps on a more intimate level so mission accomplished. Feel free to use what I have to help you develop. :)
