X (formerly known as Twitter) DNS Blocklist for Pihole. This list blocks X (formerly known as Twitter) in it's entirety, not just ads or tracking served by X (formerly known as Twitter).

Usage

1. Login into Pi-hole admin
2. Navigate to "Adlists"
3. Copy this URL: https://raw.githubusercontent.com/JackCuthbert/pihole-twitter/main/pihole-twitter.txt
4. Paste the URL in the address box and click on Add

This list also works with AdguardHome.

Other lists

I sometimes maintain other lists:

• pihole-reddit: Block Reddit domains
• pihole-splogs: Block low value GitHub or Stack Overflow spam blogs.

pihole-twitter's Issues

Q: Does this list block all Twitter content or just inline Ads served via Twitter?

I made the assumption that this list would block the ADs on Twitter, but it seems to kill all content completely.

What is it they say about assuming?

Missing (sub)domains

I noticed that there were a couple missing domains and subdomains in the list like "videos", "t.co", and "x.com"

If you use regex, most of these could be caught using the following

• (.|^)twitter.com$
• (.|^)twimb.com$
• (.|^)x.com$
• (.|^)t.co$

Missing entries

$ host twitter.co.uk 8.8.8.8

twitter.co.uk has address 216.146.46.10
twitter.co.uk has address 216.146.46.11

Twtr has DNS for every country not just the UK.
