rssnix's Issues

Incremental update

Hello!!

This is a lot of fun thank you for doing that! I would like to know if you are thinking about implementing incremental updates for feeds. According with the logs during an update it looks like all the articles are re-fetched.

This is an amazing start but if rssnix downloads and notifies only about new articles it never saw before will help me figure out when there is something to read, that I didn't look at yet

have a nice day

Implement tests

We need some unit tests here so we can be sure nothing breaks when something new is added.

Use the publish date of the RSS item as mtime of the file

I use ranger for viewing and I want to sort the news by publish date. newest item first :)

w3m as visualizer

Hello!!

I am not an expert here but I am experimenting with the ability to use w3m as visualizer and I want to share where I am so far. If you set w3m as replacement for vim it already has the ability to move between folders but when you select an article it does not detect it as html because it is partial html.

But if you open a specific file and you force the content type to be text/html w3m render the html.

w3m -T text/html gianarb/Go\ testing\ tricks

Add `--version` flag

Having this flag is helpful when testing if rssnix is already installed and at the latest version.

Filesystem permissions to open

The permissions should not that open.
Folders: rwxr-xr-x
Files: rw-r--r--
