When the filter component changes the actual filter, update the overall context, which then passes the filter data into the calendar component. Once the calendar component detects a change in this data, then launch another request to the api and refresh the view.

when the calendar date is changed, then alter the filter dates as well.

When the event in the calendar is clicked on, open a pop up with that event so you can view more information about it.

With information like how to contribute, the reason for the website etc...
