CPU temperature doesn't work on Windows, it always reads 0C.

It works for me, you'll need to provide more info. In addition to program output try this command:
cat /sys/devices/platform/coretemp.0/hwmon/hwmon1/temp1_input

Thanks for testing. I planning on revising the fix to remove two sensors that appear to report HDD temps:
cat /sys/class/hwmon/hwmon0/temp1_input
cat /sys/class/hwmon/hwmon0/temp2_input
The others either report CPU temp or do not exist. Can you confirm?

I do have a /sys/class/hwmon/hwmon0/temp2_input and that reports temp
I also have a /sys/class/hwmon/hwmon0/temp4_input which also reports temp.
As I understand, on this particular cpu (not sure about others) temp2 reports temp for core 0 and temp4 reports temp for core 2. The cpu has 2 physical cores, My best guess is that those are as follow
CORE 0 = physical - temp reported by temp2_input
CORE 1 = virtual, or has no sensor or reported as part of core 0
CORE 2 = physical - temp reported by temp4_input
CORE 3 = virtual, or has no sensor or reported as part of core 2
*virtual used for the lack of a better term.

I'm still investigating this issue. It appears the hwmon sensors can vary from motherboard to
motherboard and from kernel to kernel making it impossible to code algorithmically.
The currrent logic used is to poll sensors in some order for the first one that returns a value.
This does not guarantee that the temperature returned is from the CPU, in some cases it could
be from an HDD or some other device.
With no apparent elegant solution one possible approach is to scan for the highest tempeature
read from all sensors. It can be assumed the CPU is the hottest device in the system when CPU
mining therefore the hottest temperature read from the sensors will be from the CPU.
Multi CPU system can be another complicating issue.

You are correct. There are many sensors reporting temp on different systems. Would it be possible to maybe probe what lm_sensors report? It may offer some hint as to where or which sensor to read.
If it helps, here is my output of the sensors command

Core 2: +78.0°C (high = +95.0°C, crit = +105.0°C)
I imagine something (although maybe not all that elegantly) can be done with this. since my paths in cat /sys/class/hwmon/hwmon0 match core numbers.
For example, I have a core 0 and core 2 reported by sensors, and I have a /sys/class/hwmon/hwmon0/temp2_label that reads "Core 0" and a temp4_label that reads "Core 2" thus indicating that temp2_input and temp4_input are indeed reporting temps for the CPU cores.
Just an idea, like I said, maybe not the most elegant way of doing it.

Not for me. hwmon0 is hdd and hwmon1 is cpu. That's the problem, there is no consistency.
It only works on my cpu because it hits the first path, otherwise I'd be monitoring hdd temps.
I'm going to leave it as in cpuminer-multi.
