Jellyfin-Roku

Jellyfin-Roku is a local client for your roku devices allowing you to connect to a local jellyfin server.

Currently Jellyfin-Roku connects you to your server through http.

Getting Started Developing Jellyfin-Roku

First enable developer mode on your Roku device:

Then, zip up the source code directory. Visit YOUR-ROKU-IP in your browser, updating the IP address with the IP of the Roku device. From here you can upload the zip to the device.

Debugging

To debug, use any telnet client on port 8085 of the Roku. In windows, open a command promt:

telnet YOUR-ROKU-IP 8085

Replacing Images

Replace images/channel/themes/defualt/hd-connectsignin.jpg
Replace images/channel/hd-*.png

Not Sure if there is a standard for the hd, sd images they all show up as different sizes i will have to investigate if jellyfin already has these standards/images

Remove all connections to Emby Connect

It looks like I can safely remove the Emby Connect options leaving server scanning and manual server config in place.

Remove Active Supporter check

Active Supporter is only checked before creating Live Tv Guide Screen. It can be easily bypassed (return True) or removed all together... If there will never be a check like this in future versions of the Roku App, it should probably just be removed. (I'll be removing it in my fork I think) Comments?

Instructions in readme are not precise and following them leads to invalid manifest errors

non-developer testing question

I have a Roku 3 and I've installed the code, seems to work, except I cannot login. I just stumbled across this and gave it a shot, is it complete or still a work in progress?

Remove/Refactor deprecated Roku SDK components.

Oh My! Jellyfin-Roku is riddled with Depreciated SDK Code. This will block acceptance into the Roku Channel Store. I'm starting to see why Plex chose a complete rewrite of their Roku app when faced with the sunsetting of this SDK.

Begin Jellyfin Branding

I have jellyfin-roku running on my devices now. I have started rebranding on my local copy and would be happy to move this along here.

Is this ready for testing by non jellyfin devs? What is the timeline for a release in the roku channel store?
