installswapfile's Issues

Can I use it for 2GB Nano?

Describe the issue
Is this installSwapfile.sh working with Nano 2GB model? If I want to swap a memory of different size, shall I just change the SWAPSIZE=6 to some other value like 3?

NVIDIA Jetson Hardware

  • [ X] Jetson Nano 2GB

L4T / JetPack Version
JetPack 4.2.2

installSwapfile.sh doesn't do anything

I have an SSD automounted correctly, mapping to the /media/ssd folder. The last line in /etc/fstab is UUID=... /media/ssd auto nosuid, nodev, nofail 0 0

Running "./installSwapfile.sh -d /media/ssd -a" does nothing. It doesn't print anything, finishes immediately there are no files in /media/ssd, and no changes are made to /etc/fstab.

This is on the latest version of Jetpack (4.3).

automount.sh doesn't mount drive correctly and screws up partition table

I ran automount.sh, and now I have an SSD folder mounted as /media/036926a9-10db-4d7d-be53-aa75a7gfjasdffs (or whatever). I'm not allowed to rename it or delete it.

If I start the Nano without the drive plugged in, and then I plug it in, I get a message "Device /dev/sda1 is already mounted at 'media/036926a9-10db-4d7d-be53-aa75a7gfjasdffs'"

I restored /etc/fstab to its pristine condition, but this thing is still getting mounted automatically as "/media/036926a9-10db-4d7d-be53-aa75a7gfjasdffs during reboot and I don't know how to repair the damage.

add note to install...sh how to check if swap is on?

i had problems with the coral dev-board (edge-tpu from google).
i followed an article on medium to install opencv on the board, but only with 1GB swap.
i got some weired errors and after i while i increased to 2gb and everthing was fine.
while doing this i hat to check if the swap was activated.
i found this page with 3 manual methods to check.

https://www.cyberciti.biz/faq/linux-add-a-swap-file-howto/

may you want to put some of the hints into your readme or finish-notice of the srcipt?
so one could check and proof that the swap was acitivated?

regards,t
