Datetime fields automatically set to date but it is not clear what the date format will be. How about having a setting that allows you to specify your date formats rather than having to override each one?

Using model properties in the index works fine but there needs to be a way of specifying the correct mapping. eg. using a boolean property fails with a Serialization error.

Also, sometimes want to specify a field for a full text search instead of a keyword field.

I've created an index that includes foreign key fields like this::

        'who.last_name',
        'who.user_type',
        'who.email',
        'who.telephone',
        'who.title',

        'who.last_updated',
        'who.is_active',
    )

But this causes problems in javascript because of the . in the field name. It would be nice to be able to do use __ instead, eg::

        'modelname',
        'sig_code',
        'sig_access',
        'who__handle',
        'who__first_name',
        'who__last_name',
