github-repositories's Issues

Add application caching

Add application caching to reduce http request, create smoother animations and faster loading.

Notifications

Seeing notification would be awesome.

Sorry read below :)

improve caching?

Love this extension. So great

I'm wondering..

I'm on 3g so the pull of all the repo information takes a good 15 seconds. Can the localStorage cache be pulled up and used.. and then the view changed if the API call returns anything different repos (basically highly unlikely)

I imagine changed watcher/fork counts wouldnt demand a redraw.

And then the new response goes in the cache.

Or something like that?

Basically I want me some more speed!! :D

Loading

If no followers the loading symbol does not go away.

Create display filter.

Create display filter to help find repositories faster. Do this by manipulating the DOM so a reload is not triggered (to help users running on 3g).

Quicklinks

Oftentimes I don't want ot go to the repo home but instead to

  • /commits/master
  • /issues

Maybe we can have easy links to those under each repo name?

Copy to clipboard?

I wouldn't mind having a copy to clipboard icon like GitHub does on repo pages (https://github.com/jamesfleeting/paperkilledrock.com). This would come in handy for copying clone urls on those reusable projects (like my Drought html/css framework which I use to start new sites). Opening the extension and clicking copy would be nice. Of course this normally requires flash (as github does).

Build Script

It would be nice if all the code we concat and compressed. Based on OO design and dependencies a custom ant build script would need to be create.

Will work on this as time permits but if anybody has a chance to correct create this, that would be awesome.

Tooltip

Create user link tooltips for buttons.

Change default per_page in api call.

By default GitHub api returns only 30 results, this can be set to a max of 100 and then will either need to do paging in the extension (I could see paging below the list that would then call the next page of results or could loop through each page until all the results are returned and display all. I might be worried about the latter if somebody has watched a ton of repos, load time and the amount of items in the list could be much. I have 75 items in my watched and I don't think that is very much.

Turn Organizations dropmenu into an accordian

There is a lot of available vertical space, and you already have the content pane scrolling on overflow. Take a look at Github's administration section, you'll see that you simply expand the Org or User you want to modify and the relevant subsections appear. Although it's not as necessary to 'expand' organizations since they all have only 1 section (I think).

Anyway, this would allow for fewer clickers and better usage of the available space.

Own repos showing in watched list.

Currently my own repos are showing up in the watched list. Technically I am watching my own repos as github does this automatically but as they are not listed on github.com I would expect them to be listed here since my own repos is already a tab.

Safari support

I wondered whether you're informed how much effort would be required for Safari support? I'll pitch in if you think it's achievable.

Working context switcher

Context switcher that follows GitHub context switcher style and allows users to change context's on the fly. Context should be stored in localStorage and remembered for next load.

Multiple Org switching

Cool extension, but I can't change to my org.

I have access to my own repositories, and 2 orgs (3 options in the drop down, total: my account, org I own, org I've been added to). I am unable to switch to the org's repositories that I own -- instead it just refreshes my own account's repositories. I am able to switch to the third org, which I do not own, and back to my own account.

Add "Pull Requests" tab

Hi there,

This Chrome extension seems very useful to me. I especially like the visual design; great work!

Having a "Pull Requests" tab would be great. I've made a Chrome extension myself so I might implement that feature. Does that sound like a change you would merge if it were implemented? I can't promise a timeline right now, but if the need comes up often enough, it might be fairly soon. ๐Ÿ˜„

Best wishes,

Ben

Show notifications count

Hey I love this extension, and thought that it would be nice to add a feature request.
I'd like to know how many new notifications I have.

Probably a notification icon before the settings icon to match gitHub buttons.

Extra points if these are shown on the icon on toolbar as well.

Border around logo

Latest chrome update puts a border around logo until a click event takes place.
