This challenge included using Javascript to build dynamic webpages and other customization tools that include Bootstrap, HTML, and CSS.
-
The purpose of this challenge was to utilize a JavaScript array and use it to create an organized table. This challenge also included using JavaScript and HTML to allow the user to filter and find specific events within the data. Finally, we use HTML, Bootstrap and CSS to read the Javascript code and create a webpage that is easy to view and use. The website includes elements such as images and an overview of the website, as seen in the snapshot below.
- Before performing any search, please, familiarize yourself with the website. This website has an overview, and a default data table that is displayed, togeter with the filters.
- Direct yourself to the filtering area. See how you're available to filter for date, city, state, country, and UFO shape.
- One drawback of this webpage is the fact that the filters are case sensitive. This means, if you filter by "Circle" instead of "circle", your filter will return no matches.
- Two recommendations for further development are: webscraping the most recent data of UFO sightseeings for us, and users, to have the most recent data. Also, adding filters directly to the column names in order to have a more "user-friendly" filtering. With this there is no need for typing anything, users would be able to filter with just a click.
