Doesn't support changing the VAT rate

There is no admin interface to support changing VAT rates.

A patch or SQL script will be provided to support the increase in UK VAT from
17.5% to 20% on 4th Jan 2011.

VAT rate is stored with each product and all prices internally are stored net
of VAT. Auto VAT rate change will leave the consumer price unchanged so will
need to modify the internally stored cost price of some products and will
effect supplier purchase orders. Suppliers can later change their prices if
necessary.

Fortunately many UK food products are zero VAT.

VAT rate changes not handled

The 4-Jan-2011 VAT rate increase is not handled by v1.0 of the foodhub
software. In short it can't handle VAT rate changes.

We are implementing this for Stroudco and will release a software patch early
week of 11th Jan to address this issue.

Default action of a VAT rate change will be that the price that the producer
sells to the hub will not change but the consumer price will. VAT changes are
passed on to the consumer. A producer can login and change their prices from
the producer control panel if desired.

Luckily most produce is unaffected by the VAT change as most basic foodstuff
are zero VAT rated.

Doesn't support changing the hub margin rate

Changing the hub margin rate in the admin control panel does not change
internal pricing. Will apply only to new products and those where pricing is
modifed.

Would currently require SQL scripts to modify the internally stored cost prices
(net of VAT and margin).

Be careful to set the margin price correctly before adding products. It's not
going to change frequently anyway since suppliers would all need to be notified
and agree in advance.
