Personally, I'd like to see the default to use what's on the user's path rather than a set of hardcoded versions. This will make it better for Linux and Windows users too.
This does require the user to open atom
from the command line instead which means they'll also have to install the shell commands Atom -> Install Shell Commands
. It's a special kind of pain noticed through the atom-script package.

That said, I'll still provide a way to allow Atom to work even if you don't launch from the command line - but it should โ if launched from the command line โย really require no configuration.
I'm also tossing up go get
-ing tools if they're missing / can't be found and a GOPATH is set (via the environment or the configuration. That might come across as a little... presumptuous but it allows things to 'just work' out of the box once a GOPATH is set.
