powerline's Introduction

powerline daemon with systemd

This is a systemd service file to start up powerline daemon on a per user basis on boot (headless).

  • Place the [email protected] file into /etc/systemd/system
  • Reload the daemons: systemctl daemon-reload
  • Enable the service for users: systemctl enable powerline@username
  • Start service: systemctl start powerline@username

powerline's Issues

Obsolete?

This repo can perhaps be removed as obsolete now. The current "powerline" package includes a systemd unit file similar to this one-- I'm looking at powerline 2.5 packaged for Debian.

powerline-daemon commandline

Hi

Just want to say thanks, this is great

However, bit confused about the options you've chosen for powerline-daemon
--quiet, -q
Without other options: do not complain about already running powerline-daemon instance. Will
still exit with 1. With --kill and --replace: do not show any messages. With --foreground:
ignored. Does not silence exceptions in any case.
--foreground, -f
Run in the foreground (don’t daemonize).

seems like either you don't want it in the foreground, or you don't need to include --quiet
