Attempting to round trip some arrays results in a panic. This issue is prohibiting the use of gibbon in Tree-Buf

Here is one such array: [-75.01536474599993, -75.00911189799993, 114.37647545700004]. And the result:

This array is one of the smallest arrays I have found in a program that searches for panicking arrays among a slice of benchmark data I have, but there are many such sub-slices that panic.

I'm working on making this into a test case in a fork and am opening the issue to get the conversation started.

Johannes, thanks for making gibbon available. It appears that gibbon is a library and there is no main function -- is that correct? Do you have a main function that you could commit? I am interested in Rust and I guess I can write my own main function but I am more interested in exploring the ideas in the Gorilla paper which you presented yesterday, so if you already have a main function I would be interested to try it.
