Breaks GOG Galaxy installation

Tikione removes redistributable files that are required for GOG Galaxy to function and I'm forced to reinstall. I've reproduced this issue thrice. When I try to launch Galaxy client, I simply get an error.

Automatic update fails every time

When I try to use the automatic update it fails. (Windows 8.1, 32 Bit)
I also tried starting it as administrator and update it, but it fails too.

Only download the JRE if it's needed

Many people already have the JRE installed. You could detect it and save 100+mb in your download.

Custom folder selection dialogue improvement

The selection dialogue window thing (no idea what to call it) Should be changed from the old XP-style one http://i.imgur.com/P5E3rvC.png to a modern http://i.imgur.com/N1hVrId.png one where one can use the address bar to copy-paste locations and which is generally better and more flexible. Sorry for the vague terminology, I have no idea what the UI elements in question are called, I hope the pictures convey my ideas better.

[request] Linux (& Mac) support

This feature would be really nice at least when valve is focusing alot now on Linux (steamOS), and it should not be that hard to implement.

Windows 8.1 (64-bit) doesn't find the file

Hello,

I installed the programm completly and trief to start it, but Windows show an error (see add, but it is in German - it simply says, what I already mentioned in the headline above). Do you have an idea, what can I do to fix this problem? In my opinion, I did anything right and this seems to be curious and paradoxical.

It would be nice, if you could offer me a solution for that, because I wanted to free some space an my SSD. I found, that your programm is a smart solution!

Excluding "downloading" folder?

Should you automagically exclude the downloading folder?

I'm not sure if this exists only while Steam is open.

Error after scanning the entire drive

I scanned the whole C: drive and TikiOne Steam Cleaner found some redistributable packages. However, the removal process failed and it's possible that the program broke GOG Galaxy Client installation.
It's much easier to scan the whole drive, as the program supports now not only Steam games. I'm asking you to add support also for applications.

I'm using the latest 2.4.2 version.

Bring you to the releases page instead of auto-downloading the .exe file

This is good for portable version users.

Can you develop the program further to search for every installed game, not only Steam games?

Automatically detect custom path

They are stored in %steam%\SteamApps\libraryfolders.vdf

Hoping of course %steam% is already automatically retrieved from either HKCU\SOFTWARE\Valve\Steam or HKLM\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\Steam

Just look inside steamapps folders

Especially don't waste time searching in steam html cache or screenshots.

Only present redist used once

Or at least don't tick them by default (+ explanation of the reasons if user will).

The information about this can be found under HKLM\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\Valve\Steam\Apps for every game.

This prevents dumb issues with steam forever asking user to install those dependencies, in the case he had never ran the game.

Then.. in a perfect world the perfect thing would be to check if the corresponding resource is already installed on the system, and if successful allow to delete the file and set the right DWORDs.. But I guess this is kind of complicate to implement.

[Resolved] Cant add new hard drive to list

Ive never had this issue before but now when I try to add a new drive for Tiki to scan it crashes without any error, poof its just gone.

It also closes if i click the "..." steam folder button, or any of the buttons that change what it scans. Im using the latest build on Win10 64 bit Creators Update.

Increase pattern rigor?

Removing whole folders only after a simple name check seems a bit too hazardous.

For example: some game may even legitly have some folder named "directx" (for reasons).
A check for DXSetup inside these would really nullify chances of messing up.

And I guess the same is true for Physx and PhysX_systemsoftware.

I guess one could then point out "vcredit" is all but a "random" name.. Though I'd still find the "file whitelist" approach more elegant.

Changelog date

Very small issue, but I noticed that on the changelog for the 2.4.1 release, you have the date as being 2014, not 2015!

Windows Defender seeing installer as severe threat.

I downloaded the regular installer from the releases section.

Patterns are case-sensitive

Or otherwise I can't explain why "directx_Jun2010_redist" hasn't been found.

Block Steam from redwonloading the redists

This is pretty pointless; it took so long to execute; and Steam just redownloads all the redists.
This would only be useful if it automatically added symbolic links or something so steam wouldn't redownload them... :/

Ability to sort columns ascending/descending?

Right now in the current 2.4 version, I see column headers for Path, Size, and Type. Clicking the header makes the slight color change that Windows users associate with "resorting by that field" but right now, clicking the headers doesn't do anything. Seems to be a bug?

(I'd really like to sort by size, as of course size/disk space is the main reason why someone would want to use this wonderful little program!)

Final note: can you show us "total selected size: xxGB/xxMB" somewhere on your program? Maybe next to the "xx files, xx folders" line?

No portable or installer for latest version of tikione-steam-cleaner 3.0.5

I don't seem to find a portable or an installer version for the latest build. Is this by design?

Font Size

The font size is very small on a screen with a high pixel density.
Imho it would be good to have a option to change it.

Farther TikiOne Development

So, I was reading on Reddit, specifically this post, and saw that a software that I use relatively regularly (every time I install a Steam game) is stopping development.

After reading through the comments you can see that almost no one knew you ran a fundraiser program for this software. I'd advise you to run it again and advertise on /r/pcmasterrace. Most of us use this software.
