Install

Install with npm:

$ npm install --save combine-duplicates

Condense all repeated character sequences

console.log(combine('abbbcddddeee')); //=> 'abcde'
console.log(combine('abbbcddddeeefg')); //=> 'abcdefg'
console.log(combine('abbbabbbbabbbbabbb')); //=> 'abababab'
console.log(combine('abbb***abbbb***abbbb***abbb')); //=> 'ab*ab*ab*ab'

Condense only consecutive occurrences of the given substring

console.log(combine('abbbcddddeeeddddd', 'd')); //=> 'abbbcdeeed'
