grabbox's Issues

2.0.1 just doesn't work

App doesn't react to shortcuts, and shows error after "upload from clipboard" click:

In logs, I saw only single error per attempt:

I'm using latest dropbox (31.3.23) & macOS (10.12.6), and have no problems with them. Permissions seems to be set correctly, GrabBoxv2 folder exists in dropbox folder.

doesn't work with mojave

I love grabbox, been using it happily for years. Unfortunately I can't get it to work with OSX Mojave (2.0.4).

Option to disable retina resize

Thank you so much for such an wonderful and simple tool!

I was wondering if there could be an option to disable the resize of retina screenshots? I do like to share the full resolution screenshot pretty often, especially with design or pixel perfect work.

Dropbox Authorization window not opening web page

This is on Yosemite 10.10.3, Grabbox v0.4.2.

After a clean install of Yosemite, I installed grabbox and tried to authorize it with dropbox, but clicking the "Open webpage" button doesn't do anything. I've tried closing all browsers, opening just Safari, or just Chrome, but neither works.

Files just don't upload sometimes

I've been trying to love Grabbox 2 like I loved 1 but I frequently just get a continuous menu animation while nothing happens for a long, long time. Sometimes restarting the app finally uploads the file.

Use Date/Time as filename

Currently, the filename for uploaded screenshots are some random hash. It'd be nice if the filenames were the Date/Time, like how OS X does it by default Screen Shot 2014-10-17 at 11.25.41 AM.png.

I can set Finder to arrange by "Date Created", but since it lumps files together ("Previous 7 Days", etc), they still aren't sorted by date.

bug: app crashes upon "Upload From Clipboard" from menu

error: Segmentation fault: 11

Upload from Clipboard

steps to reproduce:

  1. open any PNG screenshot in Preview, Select All, Copy
  2. Select "Upload from Clipboard" from the top menu

expected behavior:

  • PNG clipboard contents are uploaded + dropbox url is copied to clipboard

actual behavior:

  • app exits immediately and does not relaunch. system.log is as follows:

contents of system log:

Marker - Sep 2, 2014, 1:42:46 PM
mac com.apple.launchd.peruser.502[164] (com.bitspatter.mac.grabbox2.67968[5413]): Job appears to have crashed: Segmentation fault: 11

mac.local GrabBox[7292]: [WARNING] DropboxSDK: error making request to /1/metadata/sandbox/g_vigs09.png - (404) Path '/g_vigs09.png' not found

N.b: after manually re-launching, the previously attempted clipboard upload completes and the URL is copied to the clipboard.

Deletes file after saving on localhost

I guess this is personal opinion but I'd rather it not delete the file after uploading. This should be a simple preference in the menu icon (checked or not checked).
