Based on the JPGs, the content area seems to be 1450px across. Is that correct?

That seems big. Bootstrap, at "large screen" size, only goes to 1136. And since we discussed not making this a responsive site, I think that a lower target might be indicated. 940?

OR: is the header meant to be fluid and the content area a varying fixed size?

To be clear, the area I'm talking about is in the header and footer, from the left edge of the P in Poverty & Homelessness History to the right edge of the H in Search.

• It needs to be refined, but is this a viable idea?
• nb: each browse page will be a WP category
• Results will be in alpha order

• Should I create images at each size (enlarged, full-size and thumbnail) or do you want to serve the same image and have it be re-sized and cropped? I am inclined to do the former to save bandwith.
• For the first phase, I was going to take a fairly active hand in optimizing and saving image....is that silly? I fear that handing it to the client is not a wise idea.

• Featured images on posts or an image added to the category?
• Either border radius (works in IE 9+) or PNG 24s with alpha channel enabled - to discuss

Client wants to add a nested page to About. The page will be called "What's New". We will need to link to it from the main About page.

nb: they are creating draft content now.

There are a handful of markers on the map strip on the era landing page, Do we want to add actual content to these spots so that the user gets a sense of the map content?

It would might be interesting to play with some stats about ICPH - to keep the infographic theme consistent. Do you collect numbers that suggest your scope and/or impact?

  do you have good staff / office photos? I am not sure we would use them, but I wanted to ask.

Details in following comment. The first set of icons (population graphic has family not map) seems better to me - sound ok?

ICPH will add related articles/links that'll appear at the end of each article. BF mocked these as circular images with text links. Is that going to be a bear to code or can we just convert the featured image thumbnail to a circle via CSS?

I used a the same Related Links plugin that we installed on NYW: http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/related-links/
I am very open to other ideas/custom code, but this seemed to do the trick in a pinch.

JR/JT: how to integrate via WP

• Gray shadow doesn't feel like a tool/something the user can control. Feels more decorative and perhaps like a hover state.
• Can the on-states be brighter/stand-out more?

ICPH loved the idea of not having to manually add links to excerpts.

Can you also add this functionality to the articles? If so, can you code it such that the article names are only linked the first time they appear in the article?

I realize this functionality might take some time, but will ICPH eventually be able to preview their articles as/after they enter them in WP? Right now it shows a blank page, which I realize is likely due to the ajax/overlay not being in place.

JT to ask client if waiting for Phase 2 makes sense.

ICPH does want to highlight contemporary information on the timeline: integrate as endpoint into Policy timelines esp homelessness

Could look like the blurb that opens each section of the chronological timeline (e.g. a background color and image)
Would have summary (see below), stat (http://www.nyc.gov/html/dhs/html/home/home.shtml), link to ICPH white paper and find out more link

• ICPH is "hand-crafting" these excerpts, including the embedded links
• Would it make sense for these to just be posts? The circular image would be the featured image, the year would be a category and, if there's a stat or pull-quote, it would be a custom field.
