type-the-word's Introduction

og

A couple of years ago, I typed out Psalms 1 to 137 over a 6 month period. Not only did this improve my typing, but it also encouraged me daily. When I later discovered monkey type , it made sense to combine the two ideas. Typing the Bible makes you look at every word and see the passage anew. When I was developing this site, I used John 11:35 as the edgecase since its the shortest verse in the Bible. Typing it over and over made me realize that Jesus wept because he loved Lazarus. He died for us because he loves us with the same love.

My hope is that by typing the word you will also see the Bible in a deeper way.

type-the-word's Issues

Feature requests

Thanks for creating this! I was thinking about making something similarfor myself but found this, which is much better than anything I could have done.

I have two feature requests that I think would make it even better:

  1. Would it be possible to have the site remember the last location the signed in user was at? As far as I can tell, it always defaults to Psalm 23. It would be great if I could navigate to the site and be right where I left off.
  2. At the end of a chapter, when you type Space, can you make it go to the next chapter (and book if applicable) so you don't have to go through the chapter picker?
