We are developing a custom java http authentication class that extends com.mirth.connect.plugins.httpauth.Authenticator. This class is to take Bearer token from the header and will use issuer and audience to verify the token.

By looking through the source code here I realized that response code 401 is hard coded when using AuthenticationResult.Failure(). There is no way to change this at this time.

We have a requirement that when an expired token comes we should respond with 403. This is the feature we're looking to have is the ability to be able to set any response code for any of the cases FAILURE, SUCCESS or CHALLENGED in AuthenticationResult.
