usync.migrations.packers's Issues

Non standard file names

Hello
When the packer fails to build the zip file there is no error.

We have the following error in the logs:
Failed to save node: System.IO.PathTooLongException: The specified path, file name, or both are too long. The fully qualified file name must be less than 260 characters, and the directory name must be less than 248 characters.

We also have images with non standard filenames in them as shown below

This is causing an issue with a manual zip of the packer contents, there might need to be some manipulation of the file names? Or as someelse has said the ability to exclude the media from the packer?

Exporting users in the migration pack

@KevinJump One thing I am currently missing which is getting a bit tedious to keep manually handling is users. Can/should I develop something for this project to export users to the directory as well? I'd prefer not to do this independently as it makes sense (to me) to have it included as a part of this project since users are a part of the original site being migrated.

Updated package not working

With (uSync.BackOffice 4.0.15.0) (uSync.Core 6.0.15.0) [uSync.Content: 4.1.9.1] [Migration.Packer: 1.0.0]

This new version (7.1.0) doesn't work on the V7.15.10 site at all. As soon as I navigate to the Developer section I get the error:-

Request error: The URL returned a 404 (not found): /app_plugins/uSync.Content/uSyncDashboardContent.html

Then in the uSync BackOffice tab the Content and Migrations tabs are totally empty and there is no Migrations folder in the uSync folder. I have restarted the site several times and performed several full exports.

Please advise.

Location of zip file

Hi,

I was wondering where the zip file is saved as I can't find it after the make pack process has finished.

On the file system I have a uSync folder which has a data folder containing all configs. The uSync folder also contains a MigrationPacks folder. Whilst the make pack process runs, I can see a folder is created within the MigrationPacks folder and data is output there. Once the process finishes everything in the MigrationPacks folder is gone. I'm assuming that's where the zip file should be.

I've checked the Umbraco log file and the last entry mentions exporting the domain settings, there are no further entries after that.

I'm running this on an Umbraco 7.15.11 with 7.0.1 of this package.

Thanks

Richard

Include domains in migration pack

@KevinJump Is there any way currently or can you advise how I might add the ability to include hostnames for the relevant nodes in the migration packs so that when the migration occurs on the other end of this process the hostnames are restored to their rightful nodes in the content.
