Underdog is a modpack for Minecraft Java Edition that makes the game realistic in every possible way.

Releases are available on CurseForge or here on GitHub! Modpack must be imported to a launcher to install correctly.

Knowledge of Git is required. If installing/removing/updating mods, knowledge of PAX is required.

Also, after setting up the pack, take a look into the ./pax folder. This folder contains all the development tools required when exporting the pack.

Fishing Made Better startup crash

Describe the bug

Changing certain controls from in-game causes the modpack to stop launching successfully on subsequent launches, due to an error with Fishing Made Better

Steps to reproduce the behaviour:
Please refer to the attached options.txt file for a complete list of keybind changes, which is left-hand friendly

The game should launch correctly and arrive at Minecraft's main menu screen

Additional context

Switching the main hand to the left hand does not affect the modpack's ability to launch
Both altering and not-altering Fishing Made Better keybinds does not inherently affect the modpack's ability to launch

CurseForge launcher uses seven years old java by default, which with AMD GPU, causes a crash at pre-initialization

Describe the bug
During Pre-Initialization, a mod causes graphics drivers to crash, causing a black screen for a few seconds while the drivers reboot/enter safemode. The bug seems to be caused by the mod Endertech Forge (I might have the name wrong, I am most sure of the words Ender and Forge, but am unsure about the word tech.) or something set to pre-initialize right after it.

To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:

    1. Launch the pack
    1. The pack will begin loading as normal.
    1. when pre-initializing the mod "Endertech Forge" (or something set to load right after), The screen freezes, then goes dark.
    1. Upon Re-initialization of graphics drivers, the Minecraft window will be frozen. with a white screen

Expected behavior
The expected behavior is that pre-initialization and the rest of loading continues as normal, or at the very least throws a readable error.

My computer runs the Radeon RX 570 Series GPU, and has 8 Gigs of ram.

Mob Agression is set incorrectly

as we talked in discord, the mob aggression is set too high.

List of passive mobs (by entity id) that are made "neutral" like wolves.

# You may put a tilde (~) in front of any entity id to make it specific; specific entity ids
# will not count any entities extending (i.e., based on) the specified entity.
# Additional number after the entity id is the chance (

Additional number after the entity id is the chance (0.0 to 1.0) for entities of that type to spawn with the AI.

valid levels are 0.00 - 1.00 = 100 levels
if your wanting a 10% chance then a animal would need 0.10
a 1% chance would be 0.01

this means
animania:rooster_leghorn 0.7
animania:rooster_orpington 0.7
animania:rooster_plymouth_rock 0.7
animania:rooster_rhode_island_red 0.7
animania:rooster_wyandotte 0.7
thats 70% chance
for the mob to be aggressive.

horse_colors:horse_felinoid 0.3
thats 30% chance for aggressive

:) hope it helps :) cause i hate getting beaten up by roosters :)

EDIT: my derp, the % chance is for being passive.. so its a 70% chance to be passive, 30% to be aggressive. which is still higher than you planned..

Slimeballs need a workaround

  • So far, slimeballs are not possible to farm because slimes have been removed.
    This would need to be fixed by either adding slimes back or using resin as slimeballs.

Rendering block entity crash

Description

I seemingly crashed at random while moving my crosshair fairly quickly across a few blocks in my base. This occurred 3 separate times in one session.

Animated textures won't work with Optifine installed

Describe the bug

The streams water along with the pyrotech firepit fire is not animated whatsoever.

  • To Reproduce
    Steps to reproduce the behaviour:
  1. Find stream mod streams - view unanimated water
  2. Place logpile in standard format for pit burning and ignite - view unanimated fire
    Expected behaviour

Stream water and fire to be animated.

Cobblestone slabs not working

Describe the bug

  • To Reproduce
    Steps to reproduce the behaviour: Right click the stone slab on the item, and if in the space, it won't do anything, but if you do the same without being in the block space, it places the item instead.

Clay bucket milk use

Using clay bucket to get milk from cow is not usable without forestry bottler. There are no recipes to use it.

Recipes should be similar to those for iron bucket. This would make clay bucket more useful before iron is produced.

Wood slabs not working

Wooden slabs not going into the kiln/crucible

    Steps to reproduce the behaviour: Try to place the slab into the kiln/crucible, within block space or step back a block space and right click to either show that it doesn't go into it at all, or to place it in world instead, respectively.

ClientTicks queue overflow freeze/crash

Description

While performing typical gameplay and re-activating a faucet after taking an ingot out of the smeltery, my instance completely froze up.

It can happen multiple times during gameplay, but from what I've noticed, it only occurs in my tinker's construct area. Oddly, the issue doesn't appear to affect my friend who is nearby. The additional mod I have added is the SerializationIsBad mod and the mod I disabled is OptionsEnforcer.

Tweaked petroleum config required

By default Tweaked petroleum removes IP reservoir loading, this is intended behavior but was poorly expand.
The cf page has be updated to reflect that and i have created a starting template, the configs are equivalent to IP's

Missing replacement for end & nether stuff...

  • Ender pearls

  • Blaze rods can't be obtained. They will need to be replaced with something.

  • Blaze powder will be replaced with Sulphur.

  • Glowstone will be replaced with Phosphorus.

  • Netherite will be replaced with Gabro.

  • Endstone will be probably retextured and used as some mineral or stone. Probably dolomite.

  • Other stuff like chorus plants are still unknown what to do with them.

  • The first two ones are pretty urgent. So they will be replaced in future.
    And the other stuff will maybe get replaced in future

Underdog GUI Textures Failing to Load

Describe the bug
The textures for the Underdog gui are missing in game, causing the magenta and black 'texture' to appear. Java cannot locate them despite being in the mod pack folder

    Extracting the Underdog pack override into installation, then launching minecraft.

Expected behaviour
Java should be able to find the files present in the \oresources\modpack\textures\gui' folder and display the gui

In the debug it says that it fails to locate the texture in the specified path.

Idea suggestion - Food related

Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe.

No problem to report, i'm just getting started, this is just a suggestion based on the motto "will this make sense in real life ?" I see in my early game that food can be stocked in a chest and stay as good as fresh for days, weeks even. It will not make sense in real life right ?

Describe the solution you'd like.

I guess it will change some of the gameplay quite a bit in the early game (hunting what you will eat today) but i'll suggest an ''expiration'' system for food, maybe based on the ''Spice of life'' classification (protein expires faster than vegs), and maybe based on the cointainer the food is placed in (if it's a wooden chest or a fridge, or another container...). I'll be glad if the gameplay changed items into ''rotten food'' every time you're not eating it right away, or in 5, 10 days depending on the food and container.

Describe alternatives you've considered.

(I don't know if any mods proposes this feature right now and maybe it will be necessary to make it compatible... and i'm certainly not asking you to create a mod on your own, buuuuut....)

Ores not generating

Describe the bug
It seems as though ores from most mods are not generating.

To Reproduce
When mining, I have not been able to find any ores such as iron or copper. I have tried going into spectator and creative mode to search but have been unable to find any ores.

Expected behavior
I expected to be able to find copper and aluminum to make things like the hatch in the mod charcoal pit.

(Side note: I just got github so if I'm not doing this right please tell me)

Immersive Engineering Blast Furnace Fuel Compatibility

Attempting to place a Pyrotech Charcoal (pyrotech:charcoal_block) in the fuel slot for the IE Blast Furnace will not work as it does not accept any of the fuel sources except for the ones listed in the screenshot.
e.g.

  • Coal Coke (fuelCoke from IE)
  • Block of Coal Coke (blockFuelCoke, blockCoalCoke from IE/Chisel)
  • Charcoal (charcoal, itemcharcoal from Minecraft)

Incorrect chimney recipe output

When making a chimney with limestone chunks, the recipe output is a granite cobblestone chimney.
I would expect a limestone cobble chimney.

Pyrotech's Coal Coke block is not a valid fuel in the IE's Blast Furnace

Describe the bug
PyroTech's Coal Coke block is not a valid fuel in the Immersive Engineering Blast Furnace

Steps to reproduce the behaviour:
Refractory Burning produces IE Coal Coke, which can be compressed in the Mechanical Compactor into a block form, in which it becomes Pyrotech Coal Coke.

Expected behaviour
If the BF accepts IE's Coal Coke item as a valid fuel then it'd be expected that Pyrotech's Coal Coke block would also be valid as well.

Tree Growth might feel better being sped up some.

i did change the tree growth to 4x what you had.. it was on .5 i made it 2.0 its feeling like trees are taking forever to grow.. and normally you can plant and get a full tree on vanilla in a bit.. its been 2-3 seasons now for some trees
