the-sixth-room's Issues

Python: Write nightly cronjob to generate CSVs and JSONs

  • get data from DB from prior day
  • generate time & spaces streamgraphs.csv - Streamgraphs are over the whole time period, so TWO files total
  • generate time & space networks.json - Networks are by day, so 2 files/day over the whole time period
  • save to /data dir
  • cap online visitors at 1000 for each day but make sure to get correct geographic ratios across the whole data set per day
  • make sure all guestbook people not capped

TIME LINKING LOGIC

  • people linked in order of arrival
  • people linked to last person from their venue (online, guestbook, gallery)
  • people linked to last person from their geo

SPACE LINKING LOGIC

  • people linked randomly somewhere between 1-5 other nodes from their geo
  • each linked randomly to one other node? or prior person to enter? or?

Viz: Develop way to show people have entered network

  • Check for new data every x time interval by querying (? db? generate new json file? heh?)
  • Some non-intrusive but cool visual way of showing new node entering
  • consider way of "faking" online visitors entering network - based on time interval of total users from prior day
  • Could do same with gallery visitors

Time view: make current date selected clear

  • perhaps text under the space/time nav buttons
  • other thought - keep UI components selected at the same time as you can mouseover the rest of the streamgraph paths - i.e. vertical slice of path highlighted in time view and horizontal slice of path highlighted in space view - VISUAL instead of textual

Add search feature to find yourself in network

modal window
would come up with list of links that would then link to particular network view with that node select state

and from that same window - ability to share that link with your social network, twitter, blahblah
