A simple app to present the Australian DFAT Smartraveller advisories in a choropleth map format.

Leveraging a custom built Smartraveller API.

Country boundaries are based on public domain Natural Earth Data with the response from http://geojson.xyz/ being served.

This is not an official website. Visit the Smartraveller website for the latest information.

Proposed Improvements

  • Cards on hover over
    • Country information
    • Simple advisory summary
    • etc.
  • Click through to Smartraveller website
  • Potentially update to include advisories from various countries? E.g.:

World Events Monitoring

Display global events alongside travel advisories

  • Include a NASA Earth Observatory Natural Event Tracker (EONET) layer to show any natural events
  • Similar to the Hungarian RSOE
