gse-refresh-wifi's Issues

Not working on Gnome 43

Hi kgshank on Gnome 43 fails to start thanks for the hard work you have made available for all of us really thanks ....

Debian 11.3.0-5
Gnome shell 43.0

Not working on Gnome 40

I recently updated to Fedora 34, which ships with GNOME 40, and the extensions page tells me this extension is "outdated".

I'm not sure what's involved in updating and supporting the latest GNOME, but I love this extension and severely miss it.

I'm not sure if there's anything I can do to help: provide logs or screenshots or anything.

Not working on Ubuntu 20.04

The refresh button are not clickable on Gnome 3.36.

I move the mouse over de button, click on it, but nothing happens. When mouse is hover the button, nothing happens too.

Screenshot 2020-05-07 15-29-34

Too slow, discovery/scan takes nearly a minute

Situation

When the power goes (WiFi goes out too), I switch on the phone's hotspot for connectivity, but the scan takes a long time (a minute on average).

Problem

Scan takes a long time, a minute on average.

Can we discuss/fix this?

include this package in a distro

Hi,
I would like to package this extension for the distro kali linux.
But two things are missing to this properly:

  1. the license: could you include the license under which this code is provided?
  2. a tagged release: could you provide a tagged release, the packaging tools works best with tagged release.
The most important thing is the license.
    Thanks

Version 12 is not compatible with GS 3.34

gse-refresh-wifi v12 is marked as compatible with GS 3.34, but it fails with:

gnome-shell[2032]: JS ERROR: Error: 3 is not a valid value for enumeration StAlign
                                           _buildLayoutLocal@/usr/share/gnome-shell/extensions/[email protected]/extension.js:27:25
                                           _init@resource:///org/gnome/shell/ui/status/network.js:699:9
                                           _showDialog@resource:///org/gnome/shell/ui/status/network.js:1244:24
                                           addAction/<@resource:///org/gnome/shell/ui/popupMenu.js:499:13
                                           activate@resource:///org/gnome/shell/ui/popupMenu.js:182:9
                                           _onButtonReleaseEvent@resource:///org/gnome/shell/ui/popupMenu.js:135:9

To reproduce:

  • Install the extension v12
  • Click on the system menu, wifi, select network
  • The WiFi SSID dialog doesn't open and the error above is emitted to the system journal.

Work-around:
Downgrade to version 11.

Please keep tagging releases

Hello,

I want to package your extension for Fedora and EPEL (Extension Packages for Enterprise Linux, like CentOS and RHEL). Without proper release tags that is really difficult to track new version and all…

Cheers,
Björn

3.22 Update please

Debian Testing is now on Gnome 3.22. If you could update it'd be super appreciated.

GNOME42

can you please make it work with GNOME42?
this extension is very useful to me

Note: Gnome Shell 3.32+ automatically refreshes the wifi list every 15 s. I really don't see the need for this extension any more. Nevertheless, I am keeping it updated just in case its needed for some special reason.

I have several in network interfaces and sometimes I need to refesh manually

thanks,
