Firebase is a service similar to AWS. The reason it exists in our project even though most things are AWS is because I was testing out both to see which one I would want to use. I built parts of the API on both and have moved everything but one function over from Firebase to AWS. This function, initMovesAuth allows us to verify our apps authenticity with the Moves App to get activity data from them. It also redirects users directly back into our app using deep linking which I think is where the problem arose with AWS Lambda functions.

TODO: Convert from Firebase to Lambda function and add some form of authentication (e.g. redirectId in database and local storage on app and compare)
