I'm not sure why this error was occurring, but making a change to line 5 to explicitly use python3 appeared to resolve it:
RUN apk add --update --no-cache python3 gpsd && chmod +x /opt/nmea/simulator/start.sh

Wondering if it would be easy to allow the docker image to pass a starting or seed set of coordinates for the script to use as its starting point? Looks like you might be able to pass init coordinates into the class but curious if there's an easier way?
