Danse Macabre

Undead campaign featuring a zombie named Macabre. 12 playable scenarios, expert level. Created in 2011 by kamikaze and WURI (Wesnoth Undead Reseach Institute), now maintained by James_The_Invisible. Contains Russian and Japanese translation.

Gingly seems to be there "just because". He has no lines, he's not important to the story in any way, and that seems a shame for a character unit. Perhaps make ghosts only recruitable while he's alive, like the Saurians on SOTBE, or give him a few lines here or there. Just something to make him, well, a character.

The original author has approved both ideas but did not implement any of them before his withdrawal from the project/forums. We might try to remedy that.

Targeted for version 2.0 as changes to recruit list would be a bit of BC break (and also because I am lazy to write any dialogues :P ).

Fog in map

Wmllint prints a warning: "/home/jakub/wesnoth-addons/Danse_Macabre/maps/09b_falling_sky.map", line 6: warning, fog or shroud in map file. The map still works but it would be better to fix it. Actually this is the only only warning for this campaign on Wesnoth 1.18 save for "possible misspellings".

Merrins missile frame

Somehow Merrins missile frame is not getting shown anymore.
I'm having trouble finding the bug.

Graphics for custom zombies

Graphics for some variations insert names here of mainline zombies have changed during 1.13 cycle so we should update them also for our custom ones. Probably it can be done by recoloring the graphics of the variant of Soulless with image path functions. That would also save some space by removing physical files for them.
This is a continuation of #3.

Updates for Wesnoth 1.13

I will use this to keep track of things that should be updated for Wesnoth 1.13 once I drop support for 1.12.

  • use macro ABILITY_LEADERSHIP instead of ABILITY_LEADERSHIP_LEVEL_X
  • add special note SPECIAL_NOTES_DEFENSE_CAP for cavalry units
  • use [message] image=none instead of magical comment for wmllint
  • remove {MAGENTA_IS_THE_TEAM_COLOR}, {SOUND:SLOW} and {SOUND:POISON}
  • undead_variation=wolf for the hound

drake/gryphon die animation

Not working as intended.
I will have a look at the WML later.

New base images for the higher levels would as well be a solution.
