ircdog's Issues

text becomes invisible after connecting to a network

Readline is never shut down when ircdog disconnects, and even using CTRL + C to execute it leaves strange behaviour remaining. This behaviour is font being "invisible" when typed (or previous commands navigated to via arrow keys etc).

This occurs in the default gnome terminal AND in konsole (kde terminal)on Debian 9, on a VMWare Virtual Machine as well as a Debian 9 VPS.

Also happens on termux on Samsung Galaxy A7 (2018) with Stock Firmware, Android 9, One UI Version 10.0.35.14 and Termux Version 0.75.

The most likely cause is that the readline lib is never shut down but this requires further investigation. Please contact the original author of ircdog (as this is a fork from https://github.com/goshuirc/ircdog with Readline support added via https://github.com/goshuirc/ircdog/pull/12/files) and/or the readline author (https://github.com/chzyer/readline).

This issue does NOT occur if ircdog is started within a tmux or screen session and one detaches/reattaches later on, so this approach can be used as a workaround.

Keeping this issue incase others fork THIS repo and encounter the same issue so it is not duplicated.
