Hi kreizle, i worked on ne opencore efi with SD-Card support for Big Sur, if you are interested, you can download it at my page, check it out ;) Also Intel Wifi is working great for 8260 and other Adapters...

hi, i think that last bios for 840 g4 is P78 0135 and not BIOS Q85 01.09.01.

As more HP users have found out the recent HP BIOS versions break booting OpenCore (and Clover too btw). Is there any progress anywhere in finding out what exactly causes this?

It seems that you missed several files, like OC config files, or are you using stock OC with Kaby Lake stock plis?

HP did not offer a Quad Core processor until the G5 series. The Intel Core i5 7300U has only 2 cores and 4 threads.😁

I got really excited when I saw your title. A quad core for such a cheap price!!! You have to spend a lot more money to get the newer quad cores G5, G6 etc.💰

Hello, im working on updating my HP to Big Sur and OC 0.6.1
Your EFI was of big help, and most of your config helped me a lot (same intel i5 and HD620).
I need to update my kexts (whatevergreen and lilu) to support 0.6.1 and Big Sur. Do you remember where did you get your kexts (from which repos) so i can check if there are new version available.

If you have any issue getting an external monitor to work with Display Port please add these patches from Rehabman's config.plist for Clover and the 840 G4 to your config.plist for OpenCore. I was having trouble with Dominiks setup for OpenCore and these fixed the problem!! I just added the top group of patches in the red bracket. The other two groups underneath were the two pre-existing groups of patches in his config.plist.

You mention a SSDT-PS2M.aml hotpatch in the readme.txt (and it's in the config.plist) but there is no SSDT-PS2M.dsl in the /hotpatch folder. Without it I can't seem to get my trackpad working.

(also, you seem to load VoodooGPIO before VoodooI2CServices, isn't it supposed to be the other way round?)
