postman-collections's Introduction

Collections

This is the central repository for collection development within the Postman Open Technologies team. You will find all of our ideas for collections here, as well as links to the ones we have created as part of the stories we tell, the videos we make, and the other workshops we produce. If there is a collection you'd like to see made feel free to submit an issue on this repository, and if you'd like to build one of the ideas here, feel free to share your plans on the issue.

API Lifecycle Knowledge

These collections help answer questions about working with APIs across the API lifecycle.

  • Postman Answers - Collections and code samples for the most frequently asked questions on the Postman Community forum.
  • GraphQL Examples - This workspace contains examples of free GraphQL APIs to learn GraphQL and run demos.

Utility

These are some useful utility collections that do many different things with APIs.

  • Dev Odyssey's Public Workspace - A workspace full of unique and unexpecting ways to work with Postman using collections.
  • Postman Tricks and Tips - This public collection contains Postman Tricks and Tips about how to achieve some tricky postman use cases.
  • Utilities - These are several collections I've put together to try and solve some postman pain points I've encountered. Most of these have further instructions in the collection level documentation, but if you have any questions or need help setting something up, feel free to leave a comment and tag me.

Sports

These are some useful collection for playing around with different data used as sport.

  • Peloton Data Playground - This collection lets users explore their Peloton workout data using data visualizations.

Internet of Things

These are collections dedicated to helping us hack on and understand the world of connected devices.

  • Hacking the Home - APIs that help you manage your smart home and office, automating IoT devices using the Postman platform.

Workshops, Webinars, and Live Streams

These are collections that have been used to support API workshops, webinars, and live streams.

  • 30 days of Postman - for developers - Tackle a new Postman challenge and tutorial each day.
  • Postman Live - Sample collections and projects that are used as part of the Postman weekly live stream, making the sessions more hands on and engaging.
  • Postman Space Camp - The Space Camp public workspace contains collections for role-based training experiences.
  • 10 Postman Features Everyone Should Know - The top 10 features of Postman that you should know as part of your regular work with APIs.
  • DevRel Re-public - An interim public workspace for workshops, streams, and other events, providing a wealth of interesting AIs that can be used for different purposes.
  • Postman Galaxy Training - Welcome to Postman training! If you're on a training session, your trainer will walk you through the steps to complete your training and get your Postman certification. You are also welcome to try out the other collections and resources in this workspace independently.

Advocacy

Some advocacy focused collections helping support a variety of important issues.

  • LGBTQ+ Pride - Each June, LGBTQ+ Pride Month is celebrated around the world. Pride celebrations vary between geographies and communities, from parades and marches to demonstrations and events, with a unifying call: we are proud of our queerness, in the face of societal stigma, rejection, and threat to our lives.

Commonly Used APIs

Some of the APIs you can use to do common things involving the API lifecycle and advocacy.

  • YouTube - A collection for the Youtube API.
