newsnap's Introduction

NewSnap

License

New Pokémon Snap class libary and console application programmed in C#.

Supports handling of *.drp archives (from the ROM/patches) and unpacking data from save files.

The console application provides a way to manually execute preprogrammed routines to export your game data.

Building

NewSnap is a .NET Core 3.1 project which can be run on Windows/Mac/Linux.

The solution can be built with any compiler that supports C# 9. We recommend using IDEs such as Visual Studio or Rider. They can open the .sln or .csproj file.

Dependencies

Decompressing data within a *.drp archive requires having the Oodle Decompressor dll in the same folder as the executable. This program has a hardcoded reference to oo2core_8_win64.dll, which can be sourced from other games (for example Warframe, which is free on Steam).

[Help] File formats information

Hello !
First of all, thanks a ton for the hard work you and Scires put into this tool, it's working perfectly !
I'm sorry if this is a bit out of topic but I'm desperate about this : do you know any way to visualize/repack the animation files ? I saw that the format was used in Smash but apparently it had some changes so existing tools don't work :(
I was wondering if you knew any tool to deal with these, the only thing I managed to find was this tweet here but the poster didn't answer to my DM request, do you know them by any chance ? Or someone else that worked on it ? https://twitter.com/joschimy/status/1400383441175298048
Once again thanks a lot for all the great work, I hope you have a great week !
Take care !

Unable to extract photos

I'm unsure if I'm using the program correctly. I can't get it to extract photos.

I extract the .zip. I put my save folder into the same folder as the program, then dragged the save folder on top of the .exe, and cmd window pops up for a brief moment before closing. I saw text once, but it closes too quickly to get a screenshot of what it says.

I installed both the x64 + x86 versions of the .net framework. Running Win10.
I dumped my save using JKSV. This is what the folder looks like.

Help? I really want to get my photos extracted!

Recompact

Application worked great for extraction, however, how can I recompact the file to .drp?
