A Free Open Source Standard Notes Extensions Repository Hosted via Github Pages.

Use

Go to https://github.com/kylejbrk/standard-notes-open-extended/tree/gh-pages#readme to view the list of available extensions.

Simply copy the url for the desired extension, and past it into Settings -> General -> Advanced Options -> Install External Package and then click Install

Host Your Own

This project is intended to be used with Github Pages and Github actions.

• Fork the Repo
• Let the action generate via the build files (this may require deleting and recreating the .github/workflows folder)
• Make sure the gh-pages branch is set as your github page
• Optional If you are using a custom domain, make an enviornment variable called CUSTOM_DOMAIN with your endpoint.

Dark mode doesn't work with new mobile app

I've noticed Markdown Visual Editor doesn't work with the dark theme in the new mobile app. This might be because it uses the hosted version, but it works fine in the web app, which does too. Any ideas?

No Extensions?

Ooh, I like this idea. Maybe I'm misunderstanding something though.

After getting stuck on the self-host instructions, I wanted to double check what the extension page output should be. I added the extension activation code from the README: https://gitcdn.xyz/cdn/kylejbrk/standard-notes-open-extended/gh-pages/index.json, but wasn't able to see any.

I was able to use https://snext.netlify.app/index.json from this project. I thought this might be related to #1 , but I'm using the Standard Notes Linux AppImage. Thoughts?

Does not work on Android

Extended editors and themes do not work anymore on Android devices. it redirects to the url value for example if I open any of Simple Task Manager notes, it opens "https://kyleburke.net/standard-notes-open-extended/simple-task-editor/dist/index.html". It has been like this for about weeks.

Tested Standard Notes v3.6.7 downloaded from F-Droid.

Where do I add the extension repo activation code?

Sorry if this a dumb question. But there doesn't seem to be any field/input where I can add a third party extension repo in the latest version of Standard Notes

Plus Editor 404's

Hello!

Using the plus editor (both your version and selfhosting it) I get a 404:

404
File not found
The site configured at this address does not contain the requested file.
If this is your site, make sure that the filename case matches the URL.
For root URLs (like http://example.com/) you must provide an index.html file.

Advanced Markdown Editor 404s

Other editors seem to be working fine though

not working because of sn's newest update

it seems like some of the installed extensions, like the folders component and some editor extensions, are not working on the newest update of standard notes. i tried re-installing the extensions and restarting my desktop app, but it still won't work.

turned off automatic update for future updates, but i hope there's a way for these extensions to work on the newest update of sn.

The code does not work anymore in latest Standard Notes.

All extensions are suddenly seemingly broken

The new version might have broken this, not sure though.

Cannot Activate Repo in Browser

Currently the repo cannot be activated in browser. I believe this due to the default CORS header for github pages.

There's a similar issue linked here: https://github.com/standardnotes/web/issues/334

The workaround for the moment is just to activate in the desktop application. Apps installed from desktop should still work in web an mobile.

Sorry if dumb question - how do I verify security?

So as far as I'm getting it (not in IT or something) - this makes my standardnotes-clients get the original editors in the end, right?
Now I love this, but the idea of SN is very private, encrypted note-taking. Could the privacy of my notes become compromised, if, say, one of you guys working on this project changed something in the code, making my program fetch a corrupted update for an extension, which would share my note contents with a malicious actor?

Just want to be sure I understand how this works and how safe it is. Thanks a lot for your work! :)

Add Markdown Visual Editor

It would be nice if the new Markdown Visual editor could be added, or if you could tell me how I could use it on my free plan: https://github.com/standardnotes/app/tree/main/packages/components/dist/assets/org.standardnotes.markdown-visual-editor.

It would also be nice if the Midnight theme would work, since at the moment it seems the version you have doesn't on the current client.
