Lovely Snails

A Minecraft mod which adds some very cute snails.

What's this mod?

Lovely Snails adds a new entity: the snails. Snails are cute little creatures which can be tamed by players.

Snails will get scared by hostile mobs or if they get attacked, they will then hide under their shell.

Once a snail is tamed with mushrooms, they can have a cute little decor using carpets. Players can they take care of the snail, if it's well taken care of it mays grow into a big snail.

Big snails can be ridden, they also can be equipped with chests to offer an inventory. They also can equip an Ender Chest to offer a portable Ender Chest.

How do I take care of a snail?

Once tamed you can help your snail to grow to adult size!

You can feed your snail some grass, fern, or even kelp! You can also pet it by right-clicking on it. You can also give it a carpet, the snail will appreciate it even more if it feels cold. You can also hydrate it by throwing a water splash potion.

But beware! Snails hate poisonous potatoes.

Enhancement Request: Datapack?

Hello, is datapack version of this possible? I've been on a VANILLA + DATAPACKS stint lately while I wait for things to hit 1.20.4 :)

Texture issue

When i join my world and pet and grow a snail and i save and quit and log back in the snail i small even though i grew him to full size. I play on 1.19.3 and usually open it to lan. If you can please fix this. Thank you

No natural spawns

No natural snail spawns. Spawn eggs working, snails spawned from spawn eggs work. Used teleport commands to check multiples of each biome listed as a spawn area. Running mod version 1.0.3 in MC 1.17.1 with Fabric 0.11.6 and the following mods: Arcanus, More Axolotl Variants, Expanded Storage, AppleSkin, Architectury API (Fabric), Artisanat, Axolotl Bucket Fix, Cloth Config API (Fabric), Comforts (Fabric), Companion bats, Complete Bone Meal, Dawn API, Fabric API, Gecko Lib, Infinity Fix, Lapis Reserve, Linked Storage, Mythic Mounts, Nature's Compass, Rat's Mischief 🐀, REI, Slimy Floor, Terralith ~ Overworld Evolved, When Dungeons Arise.

Big snails become small

Big snails become small again, even if they have carpets and saddles on them. You also cant remove chests put on the snails when they become small again.

Auto growth?

Should the snails grow up on their own to large state? I see many snails that are full grown wandering about, I thought they needed to be cared for to grow large?

Small snails have an oversized hitbox

Small snails have the hitbox of big snails, which is far too big for them.

[Suggestion] New variant of Snails living in Soulsand Valley

I thought it would be cool to have new variant of snail living in this... otherwise pretty dead environment.
I mean... literally dead, there are just Skeletons and Ghasts everywhere.

How could this one be different from Overworld variant?

• While snail wouldn't be probably too fast, it could be not slowed down by Soul Sands and perhaps it could be a bit faster on soul blocks. Combine this with massive storage capacity and the fact that you travel in Nether much faster than in Overworld, you got a really nice, tho quite slow mount.
• New variant of Shell being made out of Skull. Not only that would look absolutely amazing, but perhaps you could farm Snails for those skulls?
  Skulls would be basically building blocks you could turn into light sources by putting a torch inside of it (like Pumpkins) or could alternatively crush into bonemeal in a pinch,
• While it could still accept mushrooms (as you can still find those growing in Nether), instead of grass or kelp this new variant would feed on Crimson and Warped Fungus, Roots or Blocks... or respective types of vines or even Shroomlight!
  Those blocks are generated in large amounts after a session of harvesting Nether Wood/Fungi, so they shouldn't be too difficult to find.
• Another farmable Nether mob could be really cool. At the moment we only have like... Hoglins and Striders.

What do you think of the idea?

Snails keep despawning

Not entirely sure why but i live on a Mushroom islands, Snails spawn there pretty much ok, but every single tamed snail i had so far has despawned/dissapeared somehow. Do they die if not fed or is this an actual issue? (Mod is part of All of Fabric 5)

[Bug/Feature Request] Mod doesn't work with 1.19.3, despite the version of the mod including 1.19.3

Mod crashes immediately w/o showing a "wrong version" screen.

The mod either needs to be updated to not include 1.19.3 or updated (possibly to a new version) so that 1.19.3 works.
