关于combine函数

请教一下,在diffusion的notebook中,定义了一个combine的类。

我个人理解其本质是将image与time step信息给合并到一起。
源代码中由b个随机数,将这个随机数列作为schedule的输入,得到noise_r和image_r。
这2个系数用于image的加噪过程。
而noise_r又作为combine函数的输入。然后combine的输出放到unet中去预测噪声。

我的问题是,combine过程中的种种复杂数学变换,有什么理论基础么?烦请给点提示。
