NewsApi

This is a project from my python bootcamp where I access news about a particular topic and send myself by email.
As a data source I work with newsapi.org. The focus of the lectures was on learning how to render content from webpage by making an api requests

How to work with this repository

  1. Make sure you have the latest Python version. I worked with 3.12.
  2. Open Project: cd myproject
  3. Install venv: python3 -m venv venv
  4. Run venv: source venv/bin/activate
  5. Install the requirements pip freeze > requirements.txt
  6. Get your API key and store it in a variable
  7. Set up your email function, store credentials in hidden file
  8. You will need smtplib for sending emails and email for constructing email messages.
  9. Enjoy reading!
